For WordPress users who spend more time staring at an empty canvas than actually building, Otter Blocks 3.2.0 targets that exact problem. The update — released by ThemeIsle — focuses on getting users past the blank canvas faster. It does so through a combination of AI-assisted layout generation and a completely rebuilt pattern library.
The headline addition is AI Page Building, which lets users describe a section or full page in plain text and have Otter generate a structured block layout in response. Rather than assembling blocks one at a time, users can prompt the tool to produce a hero section, a features grid, or a contact area and then refine from there. The AI writing toolbar has also been redesigned, making in-line text assistance more accessible during editing without disrupting the overall editing flow.
The rebuilt Design Library is a significant structural change. ThemeIsle has reorganised the pattern and template collection that Otter surfaces inside the editor — now comprising 150+ ready-made templates — making it easier to browse and apply pre-built designs as starting points. Two other AI-driven additions are included in this release:
- AI form autoresponders (Pro)
- Write a prompt using your form fields and configure Otter to reply to every submission with a personalised, AI-written message. A fallback message covers cases where AI is unavailable.
- Custom AI toolbar actions
- Create your own prompts for tasks you repeat often — translating into Spanish, rewriting in your brand voice — and they become one-click buttons in the editing toolbar.
On the block side, the new Content Slider block provides a native way to present rotating content — images, text, or mixed media — directly within the block editor without a third-party plugin. Forms have also received reliability improvements in this release, addressing edge cases in form submission handling.
Full compatibility with WordPress 7.0 is confirmed, meaning Otter 3.2.0 is ready for sites that have already upgraded or are planning to do so. Otter Blocks is available as a free plugin from the WordPress.org repository, with a Pro tier that unlocks additional features. AI form autoresponders are part of the Pro offering; the AI Page Building and Design Library features are available to all users.
